Open Question: Any ideas what may have happened?

I recently took the greyhound from Tampa, FL to Waterville, ME. I had to wait about 6 hours prior to boarding the bus in Tampa, so I decided to stop at the bar. I got fairly intoxicated, but not completely beligerent. At any rate...by the time I got to Orlando, I got off the bus to wait for reboarding while the bus was cleaned. When I was in line to reboard the bus I was told that I smelled of alcohol, and that the security guard needed to check my bag. We boarded the bus to find my bag, and it was no longer there.
